Life in the Outtakes

  1. Jodi says:

The "outtakes" on life are sometimes the very BEST memories! Your pictures are absolutely perfect!!!

  2. I love this so much! Thank you for sharing your experiences and feelings in such an honest and inspiring way. This message is extremely timely for me. I'm always looking to do big things, to make big changes that will bring more happiness, but you are right that life is in the moments in between. Thank you!

  3. I love reading about your life as a mom, wife, teacher, and follower of Christ! I have read through your ups and your downs but one thing is true: God is faithful through everything! I totally understand how it feels when life doesn't go your way but more often than not, life turns out better than you expected. Enjoy your family and I am praying for you as this new bundle of joy enters your life this year! ~Amanda

  4. Thank you for the peek into your perfectly blessed life. I needed this. It reminded me that I'm in the same boat as you. The seas may be rough at times but the calm is worth it not to mention the stunning sunrises and sunsets that brings hope.

  5. Michelle says:

I just adore your transparency! Everything you shared resonates with what God is teaching me in my own imperfect life. I too have had NICU babies, a puppy that I had to return to the breeder, and trips that never transpired. I was just reading about Jen Hatmaker's new book called "For the Love." One of the topics that she writes about is how to "escape our impossible standards for parenting and marriage by accepting the standard of “mostly good." Isn't that freeing? The pictures of your family radiate so much love and beauty. Thank you for sharing these pieces of your journey. I so appreciate your honesty, authenticity, and faith.

  7. Oh Abby, your honesty is always so appreciated! Life is hard, but you're right, those difficult situations always end up with an "everything is okay." And often, like you said– better than OKAY! And on those days we forget that the plan we had isn't going "according to…" it's so refreshing to be reminded that those around us struggle through similar situations and they also end up "okay." Thanks for sharing the nitty-gritty but also allowing your followers celebrate in the happiness you have gained through it all! It's inspiring!

  8. Bridget S says:

I loved reading this. I def. think you are right about your PTSD comment and having a baby in the NICU!!! The stress, combined with not knowing when you wake up if it is going to be a good day (which is relative) or a REALLY, REALLY bad day for your NICU baby is overwhelming….and you have no control over any of it, which makes it all the more difficult.

  9. I love reading your blog! Your honesty is refreshing and I appreciate the perspective you give. Your faith in God shines through in such a relatable way. I don't share many of your life experiences but I think I often experience similar emotions within my own life and find encouragement in reading your story. Your photo shoot is precious! Thank you for sharing and blessings to your family.

  10. Hi Abby,
We are also living life in out-takes at the moment….we just took OUR house off the market too and have decided to keep it….and its ok. Thank you for sharing and making us all feel better. x

  11. I just stumbled upon this part of your beautiful blog…not sure how I have missed it but this is such a beautiful post. It is so real and honest and how our lives really work. Things don't go like we plan. Life throws us disappointments. Sometimes we are just plain sad but all in all, if we pay attention, there is a lot of really good stuff too! Looks like you know that! 🙂
