Get Your Teach On! Wrap-Up

If you follow me on Instagram or The Inspired Apple facebook page, then you know that I spent the beginning of last week hanging out with 900 educators at the Get Your Teach On conference in New Orleans! If you’ve never been, take out your Teacher Bucket List and add it immediately.

Get Your Teach On is an engagement experience that equips educators in grades kindergarten through fifth grade with the knowledge, know-how, and inspiration to go back to their classrooms and engage their learners in rigorous, content-driven, and engaging instruction.

The energy from the presenters and attendees is seriously contagious! My husband (who is not a teacher) went with me and said to me on our flight home, “I just cannot believe how nice everyone is! It just makes you feel good to hang around them!” I’m not surprised he left feeling that way, of course; educators are the most inspiring, compassionate and loving group of people ever.

The sessions aren’t your typical professional development sit-and-gets. There’s everything from game-playing to singing to egg-smashing to dance-offs to neon reading and more! The best part? It’s ALL fueled by rigorous instruction and rooted strongly in content. Amazing.

Whether you’re a first time teacher or have been teaching for what seems like ages, I highly encourage you to check out Get Your Teach On. You can even have it funded through The Bill and Melinda Gate’s Foundation or Donor’s Choose (if you’re a public school teacher).  And, I promise: it is worth every. single. penny.

Interested in attending? Be sure to visit The Get Your Teach On site and like them on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates!
