‘Something To’ Suggestions on Saturday

My sweet neighbor is a very talented photographer, and an eloquent writer, too.  She wrote a piece that was featured on The Well Studio a few days ago that really hit home with me.  Like a gut punch (in a good way).  There’s also a beautiful printable at the end of the article. This is definitely something to read! Teachers, mamas, anyone who says YES too often, GO READ IT!

Definitely Hipster Holiday on Pandora.  Featuring the likes of Coldplay, Matt Pond, Paul Simon, Sarah McLachlan, and She & Him all singing your holiday favorites.

Something to bake? Definitely gingerbread cookies.  ‘Tis the season, y’all, and this simple recipe will not disappoint.  Even better, it’s from Gingerbread Friends by Jan Brett!  We made it during our gingerbread unit last week and the cookies barely made it to the 48 hours mark.

Also, go buy this little gem: Pillsbury Easy Frost.  It makes icing cookies a non-messy cinch.

Gingerbread Cookies
{recipe from Gingerbread Friends by Jan Brett}
2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 egg
3 c flour
3/4 c sweet butter
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c molasses
3/4 c brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
Bake 375* for 8 minutes.  Don’t peek!
These little wreath ornaments are at The Dollar Tree!  They would look great tied with a pretty burlap bow over the back of a chair, strung together (that’s what I did!) to add a little texture to your holiday decor, or just hung on your tree!  Super easy, super cheap.  Just the way I like it!
