Sometimes, creativity is good therapy, whether you like to write or draw or make Halloween activities based on a poem that suddenly come to you. I can’t imagine who would do that. #teachernerd
So, I spent the past week working on a Halloween unit, full well knowing that most of you probably already have your weekly plans complete at this point…but, hey, if there’s a few stragglers, maybe I can help you out 🙂
This would be a great little unit to review skills you’ve already taught, while adding a little Halloween flair to your week.
You see, three witches – Hilda, Magda, and Glenda – collide midair on Halloween night, sending themselves, their cauldron and their contents everywhere! They forget their identities and can’t remember which witch is which and whose things are whose! The tragedy!
Sooooo, lucky for them, they find a newspaper article that – most shockingly – features them! Of course, it starts to rain, blurring the pictures but the descriptions are still legible. Your students get included in on figuring the identities and what stuff belongs to which witch, all while learning vocabulary, key details, inferences, visualizing, and more!
