Description
Hi, Favorite Teachers!
This printable includes easy-to-assemble activities for reinforcing colors and color words. These are great activities to use at centers or for independent study. While “color words” aren’t directly sited in the Common Core, color words are considered high-frequency words, which both Kindergarten and First Grade standards acknowledge:
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.3c Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.1.3g Recognize and read grade-appropriate irregularly spelled words.
I find this kind of center particularly useful at the beginning of the school year when you are first teaching students how to operate during center time. The activities are simple and easy to manage. There is little prep involved, besides the normal printing, laminating, and cutting 🙂
Each activity includes the colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, black, brown, white and gray.
This resource pack includes…
-8.5x11in Color Word Posters for classroom display
-Color Puzzles
-Drops of Color matching center (color word to colored objects)
-All the Colors of the Rainbow matching center (color word, colored arc, colored splat)
-Color Memory Cards
-Color-Trace-Find Activity sheets
-Color Books (mini-books for student assembly)
-A Ring of Colors (color cards for putting on a ring)
-Fantastic Color Match (color word in 8 different fonts for matching to colored easels)
While most ideal for beginning of the year kindergarteners, this pack would also be appropriate for Pre-K students (with teacher direction) or for remediation in 1st grade.
Please see the downloadable preview above and ask any and all questions before purchasing 🙂
