Description
Looking for a fun way to engage students in making predictions this October?! The Candy Corn Bandit was designed as a high-interest activity to support making predictions for students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. It is not Halloween-specific, so it can be used during the month of October in many classroom settings.
In this lesson, you will take your class on a hunt to find a missing treat in the classroom, library, lunchroom (or wherever your students eat), gym, and playground, all the while encouraging your students to predict what the Candy Corn Bandit looks like, where he might’ve taken your treat, and where you might find the next clue. This resource also includes extensions for sequencing, ordinal numbers, how-to writing, a directed drawing, a WANTED poster writing activity, The Candy Corn Bandit craft, a questioning writing prompt, and writing pages to use as you wish.
Teachers and students alike LOVE this fun-filled activity and it promises to be on that they’ll talk about all year long!
