So, a printer is NOT a necessity for distance learning or homeschooling, but I receive so many questions about it! Since I work from home, a solid printer is definitely a worthy investment.
And, let me tell you: I love my printer. It’s an HP Officejet Pro 8610. However, it is an older model that is no longer made. I’ve had it for around 4 or 5 years and, truly, that’s the longest I’ve ever owned a printer. Ever! I use it regularly, multiple times a week.
The colors are vibrant and the printing is smooth. And, I love being able to print wirelessly. However, the best part is that you can register it with HP Instant Ink and they’ll ship you new ink before you ever run out! GAME CHANGER.
Even though mine is no longer available, there is a newer model that has great reviews on Amazon. It has all the same features as mine, and the price point is decent.

I have been an Astrobrights fan for years. You can’t find better quality, vibrant, affordable paper. Again, I use a large quantity of this for my business, but it has come in super handy while we’ve been doing school at home. Click to Shop Astrobrights Assorted Colored Paper
The kids LOVE using these! They’re a fun alternative to markers and make it easy to do art projects or school work. Click to shop Do-a-Dot Art Daubers
You cannot go wrong with playdoh! I know many parents don’t like for their children to play with it because it can be a pain to clean up, but kids LOVE it! It’s so great for building up hand muscles and fine motor skills. It’s also great for free play and creativity. Literally, no educational purpose necessary – just squish and play! These are such a fun and tactile way to work with letters. While it comes with its own set of activity cards, there are plenty of ways to use it them outside of those. I love having a set of these for the kids to manipulate, alphabetize, match, and make words with. Click to Shop ABC Cookies
This little tabletop easel has come in so handy teaching the kiddos from home. It’s portable, and it fits perfectly wherever they’re working. If you’re a classroom teacher, it would be great for small group work! Click to Shop Tabletop Easel
These little stacking cubes are perfect for math activities! They provide a great visual for kids to count and manipulate, especially because they can be stacked. Click to Shop Math Cubes
These are fun alternative to crayons. Totally unnecessary, but a new medium to introduce to your children. Click to Shop Oil Pastels
Here are a few other things that I have in my stash of educational resources that we’ve yet to break out yet! Considering we have another month or so of quarantine, we’ll definitely get to use them!
