Teaching and learning about clouds can be SO fun! Seriously, kids love analyzing the sky, identifying different kinds of clouds, and determining the weather based on their cloud knowledge. Here are some fun cloud science activities, as well as literacy and math activities to use during your study of clouds!
Vocabulary is such a HUGE component of developing competency in any content area, so this hands-on sensory bin is a fun way to match up words with definitions and provide students a solid content-specific vocabulary.
And, if your kiddos keep vocabulary notebooks, they can also add these definitions into a little cloud pocket.  After the completion of the unit, you can play this little true and false game…
During your cloud study, there many ways to keep your kiddos accountable for their knowledge. From class-constructed anchor charts, to cloud profiles, to flap books where they can tell all about the different clouds.
This Cloud Collector viewer + Daily Cloud Collector log work together so that your students have a visual to use as they scan the sky for clouds each day.  Then, they record their findings in the log.
Even some fun cloud-themed experiments will work great in this unit, along with review games, math activities, and more!
