Pumpkin Directed DrawingKid art is my favorite kind of art, which is why it's so fun to incorporate directed drawings into the primary classroom. This pumpkin directed drawing is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade, and would be an excellent addition to your October themes, whether you're studying fall, pumpkins, or Halloween! This post includes a FREE printable!

Summarizing ActivityThis is a FUN and FREE bat-themed summarizing activity. It pairs well with bat-themed, fiction picture-books. Perfect for the kindergarten, first grade, or second grade classroom. Download a copy at the end of this post!

Spider-Themed Word Work (editable template)

Pumpkin PaintingIf you need an EASY art activity to do this fall with your kiddos, this pumpkin painting with washi tape is perfect! It requires very little prep, few materials, and is so simple you could even do it with toddlers. Your kiddos will get the chance to practice following directions and exercise their fine motor skills through cutting out the pumpkin outline, the pulling/tearing/smoothing/pinching the tape, and painting the pumpkin. A beautiful pumpkin results that would be beautifully displayed in the hallway at school or on a bulletin board!

Halloween Costume Fun

Skeleton Poster TemplatesTeaching the skeletal system has never been more fun! Your kids will love learning all about bones using these fun and engaging activities and books, perfect for students in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. The human body can be so interesting, and there are plenty of ideas for using this theme in science, math, art, and reading! It's great for fall and Halloween, too!

Pumpkin Investigation

Boo Bat Directed DrawingI love to teach my students about bats! The nonfiction and fiction texts to pair with this theme are wonderful, and the cross-curricular activities are endless. Check out this post for suggestions on how to incorporate a bat theme into science, math, reading, and art!
