My mom is incredible in the kitchen. She can cook and bake and create all the things and is constantly trying new recipes. Growing up, it was always a treat to find her pulling something warm out of the oven, and my sisters and I were always eager to get ahold The Bowl to test out the dough or batter she was working with. One such treat was Monster Cookies, made from the thickest dough you can imagine, sampling everything from shredded coconut to chocolate chips to nuts to M&Ms to peanut butter chips. They truly are monsters.
Like I said, the dough is DENSE and the recipe calls for large quantities of all the ingredients, so prepare yourself accordingly. Before I added all the goodies, I actually had to transfer the dough from my KitchenAid to a regular mixing bowl so I could work through it with my hands. The KitchenAid was no match for this…
You roll the dough into 1.5-2 inch balls before placing them onto an ungreased cookie sheet. There are FOUR sticks of butter in this bad boy, so there’s no chance they’re sticking to the pan.
Mine took about 20-22 minutes to bake, but I always caution that this is highly dependent on your oven. Some may take more, some may take less. I want mine to be a little under-baked when I snag them from the oven because I allow them to finish baking on the hot pan for a few more minutes. Plus, this creates a chewier cookie, which is preferable, of course 😉
These are Monster Cookies, so prepare yourself for actual monsters. Like, size of your face cookies.
Eat the whole thing, share it with a kiddo, serve it up at your Halloween party or even with a cup of coffee in the morning.  However you choose to enjoy it, if you’re a cookie connoisseur, definitely add Monster Cookies to your must-try list!
Here’s the recipe, straight from my mama!
