Let’s take a little trip back in time for a First Grade Throwback moment! I actually did this activity back in the fall of 2011 when we were studying beginning blends and apparently never got around to posting about it. Anyway, I like to spice things up when it comes to spelling, so I made these little monsters that were hungry for words! On the activity sheet, I indicated which words the monster was hungry for. Then, the students wrote down 2 words for each blend on cards, and pasted them in the right place. {If you wanted to, you could write the blends on the activity sheet and the word cards and the kiddos could be responsible for sorting them. Whatever floats your boat. Then, we made the most darling monsters! I mean, seriously, SO CUTE!
