The Best of Halloween!

Outside of summertime, the holiday season is my favorite time of year.  From October through December, I just eat up all the festivities, decor, and – quite literally – the food!  This time of year just begs you to cozy up in a hooded sweatshirt, throw something good in the crockpot, and love on your family.
So, today’s post is all about my favorite Halloween goodies.  So, turn out the lights, grab a flashlight and enjoy the spooky-ookiness of the season’s best!

My Favorite Halloween Read Aloud

Actually, it’s probably my favorite read-aloud of all time.  When I was in the classroom, we would read this book almost every day for the two weeks leading up to Halloween (sometimes twice!).  We would talk about the characters, do sequencing activities, and discuss problem/solution.  And, the best part, is that the companion audio version is ah-mazing.  Now, I’m fortunate to share this story with Becks and listen along with the taped version found on YouTube.  Love. It.

I present to you…Big Pumpkin by Erica Silverman.
And, here’s the companion audio.  I promise it won’t disappoint!

My favorite Halloween candy?
A complete toss-up between a candycorn/peanut combo and an Almond Joy.  YUM.

My Favorite Halloween Activity

Um, that would be hands-down The Candy Corn Bandit!
I did this as a classroom teacher and my kids just loooooooved the mystery surrounding this making-predictions activity.
He’s climbin’ in yo’ windows, snatchin’ yo’ candy up…

To see more about this fun-filled activity, check out my posts from year’s past…
Also, it makes my heart happy to see how The Candy Corn Bandit creeps his way into other classrooms across the country!  Look how stinkin’ cute this idea is!!!! Kiah is a first grade teacher in Illinois and this is how she gets her kiddos excited and gets them to generate questions about this crazy caper.  Sooooooo love it! {Kiah, if you have a blog, let me know what it is so I can link back to you!}

My Favorite Halloween Spook
Clearly, this spooktacular little dude.  This is a total throw-back to two years ago, side-by-side with a pic of him now.  Where does the time go?!

Also, real quick, I will very likely not have my Interactive Supplements for Halloween completed in a timely manner.  So sorry about this.  Life happens and there’s not a whole lot I can do about it.
To make up for it, I’m throwing a little Flash Sale!  Everything in my store is 20% for a limited time!  Not sure when it will be over, but go grab some RtI goodies or The Candy Corn Bandit while they’re discounted.  Happy Saturday to you!
