The Importance of Baby Gut Health

To be honest, I hadn’t thought a whole lot about the importance of baby gut health until our youngest son, Charlie, was born. While otherwise absolutely perfect (and cute as can be!), sweet Charlie has struggled with fussiness and extreme discomfort recently. There is nothing worse as a mama, than to be unable to calm and comfort your child when they’re restless and uncomfortable.

Did you know that baby gut health is important in giving your child good health for life? By giving your baby a daily probiotic, such as Evivo, you can reduce gut inflammation through the addition of B.Infantis - a good bacteria that creates a healthy microbiome in baby's gut when Evivo is mixed with breast milk. This can help reduce symptoms of colic and reduce instances of eczema, allergies, diabetes and even obesity. Baby gut health is important!

Baby Gut Microbiome

In my search to find answers for what could be upsetting him so much, I happened upon the importance of baby gut health. Namely, the importance of a baby’s gut microbiome. The gut microbiome is a collection of trillionsĀ of microorganisms, or bacteria, that live in our intestines, or gut. It’s job? To protect and ensure proper digestive functioning. Both of these also aid in giving baby the best immune system possible. And, an upset tummy can definitely cause a baby to feel uncomfortable, irritable, and fussy.

Good and Bad Bacteria

While some strains of bacteria are bad for the microbiome, causing inflammation that can lead to a variety of problems for baby like colic, eczema, and even diabetes and obesity, there are also strains that are good for baby, too! B.Infantis, for example, is one of those good bacteria and is often missing from a baby’s gut due to an interrupted transfer from mom to baby during birth.

Furthermore, the first six months of a baby’s life are critical for your child’s autoimmune and metabolic development, which is why it is so important to have good gut health right from the beginning.

The Simple Solution

So, what can you do to ensure that baby is getting B.Infantis? That’s where Evivo comes in! Evivo is a daily probiotic powder that you mix with breast milk to provide baby with B.Infantis and restore gut health to you child! SIMPLE AS THAT. And, if this simple solution encourages good bacteria in my baby and provides him with a solid foundation for good health that can last a lifetime, I am all for it!

My Story

Like I said, Charlie has suffered some extreme discomfort lately, resulting in difficulty sleeping, reflux, and irritability. So, when I learned about Evivo, I was ALL ABOUT giving it a try in hopes that some of these symptoms would subside with continued use. We’re still new to the Evivo regimen, but I feel confident in saying that the benefits of this probiotic are worth it in SO many ways! I’m particularly encouraged that I’m investing in his little belly now so that he can have strong immunities and a strong metabolism as he grows.
