My family loves breakfast foods. (Have you read our perfect pancake post? For real, we make them at least a couple times a month!) Not only are breakfast foods delicious and filling, they’re also comforting. There’s just something homey when sausage is sizzling on the stove or the smell of bacon and eggs wafts up the stairs.

Similarly, we also LOVE pizza. It’s pretty much our go-to every Friday night. Again, pizza is delicious, fulfilling, and I hope always reminds my kids of movie nights and “weekend drinks” (i.e. soda).

So, what could possible be better than a breakfast pizza on naan bread?! I love that the crust is pre-made and the ingredients are all typically on hand at our house anyway. The naan is as fancy as it gets.

Naan Bread Crust

You can purchase Naan bread at your grocery story – usually in a two pack. We are a family of six with growing appetites, so we used our biggest cookie sheet and placed three naans right next to each other. (TIP: Cover your cookie sheet with aluminum foil first! We didn’t do this and still have egg on our sheet! Doh!)

Cheddar Cheese Dam

So, you’re going to make a dam. A cheddar dam. Not only does this make for a delectable crust, but it also keeps the egg from running over the sides of the naan.

Scramble the Egg

For three naans, we used five eggs. I whisked them together, and added a few shakes of garlic powder, onion powder, a teaspoon of salt, a pinch of pepper, and partially thawed hashbrowns (so they’re not soggy). Oh, yeah. And more cheddar.

Egg Mixture + Naan

Next up, pour the egg mixture onto the naan and spread with a spatula. Make sure to stay within the cheese dam 😉

Just Add Sausage…or Bacon

The last step is to add the protein. This time, we did pre-cooked sausage, though I would totally do bacon for a future breakfast pizza on naan bread dish. I also added some fresh chopped tomatoes, too. Again, you’re basically making an omelette pizza, so you could add any favorite ingredient as a topping! The possibilities are endless!

Bake that bad boy

Pop it in a 425° preheated oven for about 15 minutes. The cheese will be toasty on the edges and the egg will bake nicely (but make sure it’s at a safe internal temp of 160°). Then, slice it up and serve! Yum!
